Goodies Galore

Learning to focus less on dieting and more on overall health and wellness

Sweet as pie

I baked some acorn squash tonight with pumpkin butter (obvi), cinnamon and nutmeg. I hope Len likes it because there’s a lot of squash to eat. I also cooked up some asparagus (smelly pee) and soy chicken nuggets. LOVE to add condiments such as ketchup, and some BBQ sauce for good measure. We are sitting down to eat in just a few minutes.

I made it through yet another day without eating from the bins. I thought I was going to lose the war to a lollipop but luckily the flavors weren’t tempting. I don’t think eating a lollipop is bad, it was more about my goal to not eat from the bins. I thought about bingeing very quickly but the urge passed, thank god. It’s so weird how the urges come and go; it’s like you can never be too safe or confident. Does anyone understand this? I know it sounds totally weird to civilians (normal eaters.)

Doesn't this look fab?

  1. Yes I can totally relate However I usually can sense when Im going to have a “bad” day I’m tryng the intuitive eating thing and I’m not sure if it will work for me but its worth a shot.

  2. I can totally relate! If I start off bad I keep going all day. Today I started with McDonalds. That was my # 1 mistake and from there it was a downward spiral. I cant just eat one bad thing esp when it comes to candy. For some reason if I have something sweet I want more and more and cant stop. Tomorrow is a new day! btw reading your post this morning about baby steps and your weight totally inspired me to be better tomorrow and I started my food journal today!

    • Awesome Christina, glad you started your journal. I started one several days ago too and just add food as I go. It’s really an after thought rather than an obsession so I’m actually following through. I hate our black and white thinking BUT I think there’s actual evidence that proves how eating sugar/high fat/white carbs makes you keep craving it due to blood sugar spikes.
There is always a new day but I would love to start thinking, there is always the meal to make changes. Good luck.

  5. I totally understand the bingeing as I used to battle bulemia in High School…so weird how there are just some days where all you want to do is stuff your face and you never seem to get full and others where food just looks gross! I love your site, it’s so refreshing that someone puts themselves at there like you do, great to know you’re not alone, keep it up!!
