Goodies Galore

Learning to focus less on dieting and more on overall health and wellness

Oh the guilt.

It’s amazing how much guilt goes along with eating a bagel. It’s really unfortunate considering how amazing they are. I am currently eating the best breakfast one could ask for.  A whole wheat bagel with PB squared. MMMM.

The more I make that eggplant casserole, the worse it tastes. I credited last weeks tasteless casserole to the canned plain tomato sauce. I swapped that out this week for a low-calorie spaghetti sauce from Trader Joes. Never again. I want the real stuff with sodium so I can taste something other than wilted spinach.

I got home from the library last night and was legit hungry. I made myself a bowl of that eggplant, and a bell pepper with hummus. I also snuck one of Lens Portobello and cheese ravioli. That shiz is good. The cookies sang to me all night but I said, “FU cookies, FU.”

It’s snowing here in Boston and I’m jealous of all those with snow days. Adios.

  1. Carb kruncher bagels. No guilt whatsoever

  2. I try to justify eating bagels by getting whole wheat or multigrain ones. Still a lot of carbs and calories though :/

  3. Hey lady – thanks for visiting my posts and commenting!

Yes, loved the Tufts 10K. It was super fun and my first 10K so that was an added bonus as well.

When I did South Beach in college, I went from eating a bagel every day from Dunks to going cold turkey. It was HARD. I hear you on the bagel fear, but I think if you have one so every often and you’re able to do that and enjoy it, no harm, no foul!

    • Tufts race my my first race too! I’m convinced it could get anyone into running. Maybe next year we shall run together? Blogging maniacs at it again.

  4. Nothing wrong with bagels, miss lady! It’s just a swap out – if you’re having a bagel for breakfast (my fave 😉 ) then don’t have the pasta for dinner. Carbs and grains are your friends! If you have a lovely filling breakfast like the one you were feeling, “guilt” over (looks delish by the way!) then you will reap loads of benefits – feel fuller longer, have a more sensible looking lunch, be less likely to snack throughout the day/later on.

Embrace the bagels my dear! Give your body what it wants, because that, more often than not, is what it needs and it won’t freak out later on. 🙂
