Goodies Galore

Learning to focus less on dieting and more on overall health and wellness

Little bit of this, little bit of that.

I just arrived back from my target run, which was fairly successful. I managed to get everything for Ellie’s stocking but only one thing for Lens stocking. Oops!

There will probably be a couple extra things thrown in.

She learned how to snoop from her mama.

Then I sabotaged myself by buying my favorite cookies–and ate 1200 calories worth. A whole days worth of calories. I’m so bummed, and feel sick emotionally and physically. I just don’t feel like I’m ever going to win this battle and I am so exhausted from trying to fight it. I arrived home to a package from a fellow blogger–it came at the perfect time. Thank you.

Moving on– Len and I both made really boring Christmas lists this year. I am trying to convince him to forget about presents and put that money towards a pimp weekend vacation. I would much rather do that then buy boring shit.  Okay, I’m off to babysit. Hope to be back but can’t make any promises.

  1. Yay! The book arrived 🙂

I love the gifts you bought. That stuffed elephant is so cute!

Don’t feel bad about the cookies! It could be much worse! I’ve had days where I’ve eaten 3x what I would have liked to for the day. We have good and bad days. I bet the rest of yours will be good! 🙂

    • Thanks for having faith in me but believe me, hasn’t gotten better. Think donuts.

      • It WILL get better! It takes time. At least you care. I have had moments when I don’t even care. For me, that is the hardest place to start from. Cut yourself some slack. We all have faith in you!

        • thats the problem, its friggin 13 years now. I’ve def had my moments when I say, fuck it. I’m feeling like that now and yeah, very hard place to pick yourself up from. I’m for real getting off the computer now to pick up your book.
I thought of you today in target bc somone was carrying star wars items.

  2. Ooh, I’m excited to see how you like that book! You’ll have to do a mini-review of it.

Your doggie looks like such a sweet girl 🙂

  3. Sorry bout the cookies. I feel like a lot of us have had those days. I’ll root for a pimp vacation weekend too – way more fun than boring gifts 🙂

  4. I ended up binging in the middle of the night again. What frustrates me is how for so long I can be doing great. No binging. And then all of a sudden it comes back with a vengeance. It’s like no matter what I try, I can’t beat this food addiction and it sucks!! So obviously my weigh-in this morning didn’t go so hot. I’m trying not to focus on the stupid numbers and enjoy the holiday spirit. No point in letter a stupid scale define us, right? (of course that’s sooooo much easier said than done!!) Hang in there, girl. Some days are just harder than others.

    • Hey Becky, I am quite proud of you. You said it yourself, you are eating less at night and have had good phases with no binges. I think it’s important to take into consideration how much times has passed in between each binge. As the duration gets longer and longer, we have been pretty damn successful. Like you said, binges can just sneak up on us but if they become less regular, this is a good thing.

  6. I totally agree with you about putting the money towards a weekend getaway, rather than stuff. Experiences in this lifetime are what it’s all about. Miss you lots! Check out the new picture I put up in my etsy shop. I think you might drool…
