Learning to focus less on dieting and more on overall health and wellness

Hit the road Jack

Hello my friends! I cannot believe its Monday and Christmas has come and gone. Oh well, January is a fun-filled month with lots to look forward to.  This weekend is obviously New Years, the following weekend we are headed to Burlington for birthday party friday night and a housewarming party saturday night. The weekend after that we’re headed to Long Island for my friends 30th birthday party then home for my moms 60th. The day after that is my 29th birthday though I feel like I should be turning 30. The weekend after that I have dinner plans and the weekend after that Lens family will be in town. Whew, February will be here in no time.

Well, I don’t have my scale here but I got on Lens moms scale and it said 155. I’m not surprised that I gained some pounds considering I’ve been eating so much crap. I haven’t had any breakfast yet but I’m planning on a salad from subway with tuna fish. Strange choice for me but that’s what I’m in the mood for. It supposed to be a winter weather advisory today so I’m eager to get on the road and get home. Our cars at the shop getting its 25,000 mile tune up and an oil change. After that we’ll stop in New Hampshire to see Lens dad and have yet another Christmas. Is everyone settled back at home now? Have a great day everyone! Sorry for the lack of pictures.

  1. Chris and I got back last night. So that is nice, but am now full-blown sick 😦 I’m guessing it’s the combo of being around little kids + not eating very balanced (lots of root veggies and pasta/rice/carbs, not enough fruit + protein!). So… looking forward to getting back in the groove and hopefully kicking my cold/sore throat out 🙂

Hope your trip home is safe and easy – I’m so bad at driving in snow and I’m lucky that Chris will do it for me most of the time!

  2. Ugh, I’ve been avoiding the scale like the plague but finally got on with it. I’ve gained a few pounds as well (and being a little shortie, I think, makes it worse). Funny as I am in the same boat as you – trying to make it to the level below (from 130’s to 120’s) and always JUST missing. Time to get serious!!!!

Looks like you are having a fabulous holiday! Yay!!

  3. Phew, miss lady, you are one traveling girl this Christmas! It sounds like you have had a fabulous time. Hey, I think everyone’s in the same boat as far as holiday indulgences go – nobody’s at their comfort place right now. Soon it’ll be the new year and a new time to look at goals! I know I am already mulling sooo many of them over

    • I am mulling them over too but am really trying to be realistic. Maybe when I’m in Burlington in two weeks we can grab coffee?

    • The key is to get on track sooner than later. Otherwise we’re in big trouble.

      • day two is huge for me too. i even went to the gym tonight, just a quick cardio workout, came home and ate 2 cups edamame and 5 strawberries. i will take my kids to the beach this summer. it is my total motivation.

little presents along the way are totally how i motivate myself…when i lose 10 pounds, i get new yoga pants. sounds so silly, but i LOVE my yoga pants.

        • I’m so proud of you. I got a lil smile on my face when I saw your FB status about the gym. You can do it girlfriend. Is there any way we can motivate each other?
