I know I’m a little late on this but thank you so much for your great feedback on my blog. I’m taking it all in.
Back to the juicy details— Girlfriend went shopping yesterday.
Here’s the deal– I despise, DESPISE collared shirts. It’s fair to say that work clothes make me cringe. I’d rather walk around naked than wear some starchy pin stripes. Well, that’s probably not true. Still, you get the idea.
Somehow I’m managed to grunge down my wardrobe at every job I’ve had. One place even let me wear jeans every day! Now that was a Christmas miracle. Since I’m starting a new job this week (it actually got postponed till next week) I had to give my closet a makeover. My friend said, ” You must have the basic black pants and a cardigan, right?” Since I’m almost 30 you’d think she was right but sadly I don’t.
With credit card in hand, I was off. My intention was to find a professional style that didn’t compromise comfort. And NO collared shirts. (Bless the people who can pull them off. I look like a football player in them.)
Gap Outlet and Marshalls. Not crazy about any of these except the bottom right. it's sheer and looks AWESOME with skinnys.
My personal fave-- not for work of course. See that red mark on my chest? Sports bra burn. Ouch.
Those skinny jeans on bottom right (black and gray) were 13 bucks each!!!!!! The boots on the top left were 45 bucks from Gap Outlet.

That white on the bottom right is sheer and will be worn with a cami– on sale at Urban. LOVE that green tank with the things (whats that called?) around the front but it was definitely overpriced.
So yeah, I went a little nuts yesterday.

I like collared shirts every once n awhile, but they are not my favorite that’s for sure! Looks like you got a lot of cute clothes though!
I always feel like a 55 year old executive when I wear collared shirts. So yeah, doesn’t really happen very often 🙂

Wow you got tons of great stuff! I sweat through collared shirts, haha. Cardigans and tanks are my go to’s for work. Also, the small boobs I have are on the verge of chaffing off my chest.

close to 500 bucks! by the time i pay if off more like 3,000. i’m really bad with money so don’t be too jealous.
LOVE shopping! i try and do a lot of black and accessorize with bright colors and fun patterns…i love doing that because it’s always in style!
I hate buttoned up collared shirts. I don’t even have boobs and they’re tight on my boobs.

Linds check out the new dress pants at the Gap, trouser cut. You’ll love them! They are a little pricey but trust me its worth it. I actually buy a lot of work shirts at target.. At my work I can get away with a more casual top matched with black pants and heels. I hate button down collared shirts too, they make me look like a guy (with boobs, lol). Love ya! Good luck!! Coco
Love the clothes! I work at a college so anytime I wear anything above jeans I am normally in “professional attire.” One advantage to working with college kids!
I graduated from college 4 years ago. It’s time I start to dress like a professional. I need a personal shopper.
Ugh, I hate dressing up for work. I work four days a week at an office and once or twice a week I have to go to court – which means a suit. Blech. Once in a while I can get away with jeans. I’m okay with collared shirts. When I am at home coaching I usually wear my pajamas. Someday that will be my full time gig and I will never wear a suit again, or iron, for that matter.
I’m so terrible with work clothes. Every now and then I get dressed up and feel awesome, and think “yeah, I’m going to do this every day!” Then the next day I can’t be bothered. The fact I work in a building that’s tucked away/have no hot guy colleagues/am quite sheltered from public view really doesn’t help.
I often forget to do my makeup and don’t realise until I wash my face that night…and, I’ve just noticed my dress has a hole in the sleeve. I do like fashion and stuff though – go figure.
Lindsay, you did a great job on the clothes hunt. I know that it’s sometimes difficult for you to find things you really like but this shopping spree appears to be well spent!! Were those heels in the bottom left of that picture? I really like them.
